Globalbev Indústria de Bebidas e Alimentos S.A. announces the investment by private equity fund ECP Brazil Private Equity II, managed by Endurance Capital Partners. The goal of the partnership is to enhance value in management and corporate governance, in addition to accelerating the companys expansion plan, which is anchored on a combination of robust organic growth and a strategic plan for acquisitions in the beverage and snacks segments.
Bernardo Fernandes, Globalbev’s CEO, explained, "Endurance’s arrival is an important step in our expansion plan. We will create the necessary conditions to accelerate the company’s growth."
The company’s revenue projection for 2011 is $ 230 million and the target is to reach $ 500 million by 2013. Today, Globalbev is ranked 18th among Brazil’s fastest growing companies, according to Exame PME magazine, a middle-market business publication.
To achieve its growth target, the company is taking significant strategic steps, which include the creation of new management positions, the introduction of new products and the search for acquisitions. In 2010, Globalbev acquired two fruit pulp plants, GlobalFruit (in the city of Visconde do Rio Branco, MG) and Açaí GlobalBony (in the city of Belém, PA).
Globalbev was advised by Araujo Fontes, and Endurance was advised by Itaú BBA on the financial structuring.
Globalbev distributes beverages and snacks through a wide distribution network, present throughout the country. The company operates through eight regional units strategically positioned to effectively reach supermarkets, convenience stores, bakeries and bars.
